“NGIJ Announces Capacity Building Training and Governance Assessment Visit”

Lagos, Nigeria – The Nigeria Guild of Investigative Journalists (NGIJ) has announced a virtual Capacity Building Training scheduled for Saturday, 16th August 2025, as part of its commitment to enhancing the skills of journalists.

The training, themed “Fundamentals of Investigative Journalism,” will feature Prof. Z.I. Aliagan, a veteran journalist, former Presidential Spokesman, and Dean at the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology (FICT), Kwara State University, as the Guest Speaker. The session will hold via an online platform at 4:00 PM.

In a statement, the Guild expressed appreciation for members’ unwavering support and reiterated its dedication to fostering excellence in journalism through continuous learning.

Additionally, the NGIJ will embark on a Governance Assessment Visit to Kaduna State on Saturday, 24th August 2025, providing members an opportunity to engage with government officials and assess developmental projects. Interested participants are urged to indicate their interest promptly.
