Oyo, Nigeria The cultural heartbeat of Oyo is alive once again as Elewedu Akute joins thousands of well-wishers in celebrating His Imperial Majesty, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade, the Alaafin of Oyo, at the grand 2025 World Sango Festival.
The traditional event, which runs from Thursday, August 7 to Saturday, August 16, 2025, is taking place at the Festival Arena within the historic Afin Oyo palace grounds, with daily activities commencing at 10 a.m.
The World Sango Festival, an internationally recognized celebration, pays tribute to Sango, the revered Yoruba god of thunder, and serves as a platform to showcase the rich traditions, music, dance, and spiritual heritage of the Yoruba people.
