From the Southern Border to DC Streets Why Democrats Keep Getting It Wrong
By Oladigbo Oluwasogo Olalekan, Lagos, Nigeria
Those who loudly insist that America’s southern border is “secure” are the same voices now telling the world that Washington, D.C., is “safe.” It’s easy to make such claims when you’re speaking from the comfort of a heavily guarded apartment, far removed from the streets where ordinary people live and work.
But ask the working-class residents of D.C., and you’ll hear a very different story. They are the ones living with the consequences of rising crime, failed policies, and a political class more interested in scoring media points than addressing reality. This disconnect between the ruling elite and everyday Americans is not only frustrating it’s dangerous.
Democrats have once again misread the situation, choosing optics over action and denial over solutions. While they cling to narratives that suit their political interests, real people are left to deal with the fallout.
That’s why I wrote Trump’s Not Done with Washington: The Return of the MAGA White House to lay out why America needs leadership that faces reality head on, not one that hides behind talking points. Because until truth replaces spin, Washington will remain unsafe for the people who call it home and the southern border will remain a crisis waiting to explode.
