Governor Abba Yusuf Appoints Dr. Suraj Sulaiman as New Statistician-General of Kano State

Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has approved the appointment of Dr. Suraj Sulaiman as the new Statistician-General and Director-General of the Kano State Bureau of Statistics.

The announcement was made in a statement released on Monday by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature, who confirmed that the appointment takes immediate effect.

According to starnigerianews.com, the development comes following the completion of the tenure of the former Statistician-General, Associate Professor Aliyu Isa Aliyu, who has now been appointed as the Commissioner for Livestock Development.

Bature added that Governor Yusuf has directed that the official handover and takeover ceremony be conducted between Monday and Friday of this week to ensure a smooth transition of duties.

The new appointee, Dr. Suraj Sulaiman, is expected to bring his wealth of experience in data management and public sector planning to strengthen the state’s statistical operations and support evidence-based governance.
