The schedule, spanning from January 16, 2024, to February 24, 2024, outlines key dates and venues crucial to the electoral process. The events will take place primarily at the National Headquarters in Gwagwalada, Abuja, and Benin, Edo State.
Commencing on January 16, 2024, and concluding on February 21, 2024, aspirants will undergo screening at the National Headquarters in Gwagwalada, Abuja. This process will be overseen by appointed National Officers serving on the Edo Primaries Screening Committee.
On February 22, 2024, the focus shifts to the headquarters in Gwagwalada, Abuja, where the appointed National Officers will conduct the screening of aspirants.
The highly anticipated 2024 Governorship Primaries of the Labour Party in Edo State are set for February 24, 2024, at 9:30 am in Benin, Edo State. Utilizing the consensus primaries method, successful aspirants, after screening, will vie for the gubernatorial candidacy. The proceedings will be overseen by appointed National Officers serving on the Edo Primaries Committee.
At 12 noon on the same day, the announcement of the primary election winner will take place, conducted by the appointed National Officers of the Edo Primaries Committee.
In the event of any disputes, a resolution session is scheduled for February 24, 2024, at 2:30 pm, at the National Headquarters in Gwagwalada, Abuja. Appointed National Officers serving on the Edo Primaries Appeal Committee will facilitate the process.
The day will culminate in the announcement of the duly certified 2024 Governorship Candidate of the Labour Party for Edo State. Set for 6 pm at the National Headquarters in Gwagwalada, Abuja, the announcement will be made by the National Chairman, Labour Party, operating within the framework of the 2014 Constitution.
