Akinwumi Peter George Emerges DG of Adams Adebayo Yusuf Campaign Organization
The Hon. Adams Adebayo Yusuf Campaign Organization has appointed Hon. Akinwumi Peter George as its Director-General ahead of the 2027 General Elections.
The campaign organization, operating under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), described George as a tested grassroots politician, experienced mobilizer and bridge-builder with a strong record of public service.
In a statement signed by the Media and Publicity Directorate of the campaign organization, George was described as a politician whose political experience spans several years and includes service as a former Supervisory Councillor and Councillor.
The organization said his experience at the grassroots level had given him a deep understanding of the challenges, aspirations and expectations of constituents, adding that his leadership credentials also extend to youth empowerment, mentorship and political inclusion.
According to the campaign organization, George’s appointment is expected to strengthen its grassroots structures and improve its mobilization strategy ahead of the 2027 election.
The new Director-General was also described as a strategic political operator known for his humility, accessibility and commitment to service.
The campaign organization said one of George’s immediate priorities would be reconciliation and the rebuilding of unity among party members, particularly reaching out to aggrieved members and stakeholders.
“Understanding that a house divided cannot stand, Hon. Akinwumi has already set his sights on reaching out to all aggrieved members, fostering genuine dialogue, and healing old wounds,” the statement said.
It added that George would work to strengthen the party’s structures from the ward to the polling-unit level and ensure that the campaign’s message reaches communities across the constituency.
The organization expressed confidence that the combination of George’s grassroots experience and the leadership of Hon. Adams Adebayo Yusuf would give the campaign a strong footing ahead of the 2027 election.
It therefore called on APC members, party stakeholders and residents of the constituency to give the new campaign Director-General their cooperation, support and prayers.
The organization pledged to pursue its campaign with what it described as “Vision, Integrity and Service,” while working towards victory for the APC in the 2027 General Elections.
The appointment marks another strategic step in the campaign organization’s preparations for the 2027 electoral contest.
