Barrister Kolapo Alimi, the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment in Osun State, made a significant announcement during his participation on TungbaFM Network’s Political Magazine Program, Politics Naija, with Mogaji Oladigbo Olalekan Efficient. Alimi reiterated the government’s dedication under the leadership of Sen. Ademola Adeleke to providing the people of Osun State with tangible dividends of democracy.
Alimi highlighted a major infrastructure initiative, disclosing plans for the construction of five flyover bridges across the state. The proposed locations for these bridges include Okefia, Lameco, Ile Ife, Owode Ede, and Ikirun. This ambitious infrastructure project aims to enhance connectivity, alleviate traffic congestion, and foster economic development in Osun State.
Moreover, the Commissioner for Information elaborated on the decision to extend the tenure of Local Government Caretaker Chairmen, Vice Chairmen, and other officials for an additional six months, extending from February to August. This extension, Alimi explained, was based on a letter from Governor Adeleke to the Speaker, Adewale Egbedun, outlining the rationale behind the decision.
Alimi’s remarks underscored the government’s proactive approach to governance, prioritizing the welfare and development of the people of Osun State. The announcement of the flyover bridge construction and the extension of local government officials’ tenure reflects a commitment to infrastructure development and continuity in local governance.
As Osun State continues on its path towards progress and prosperity, initiatives such as these signal a bold stride towards fulfilling the aspirations of its citizens and fostering sustainable growth across the state.
