National Troupe of Nigeria Explores Partnership with ARTSWAX Communications for 2024 World Drummer’s Day Commemoration

In an effort to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Nigeria and mark the upcoming 2024 World Drummer’s Day, the Artistic Director/CEO of the National Troupe of Nigeria, Kaltume Bulama Gana, hosted a meeting with the convener of ARTSWAX Communications and award-winning Journalist/Playwright, Mr. Ola Awakan, on March 20th, 2024.

The meeting, aimed to explore potential collaboration opportunities between the National Troupe of Nigeria and ARTSWAX Communications for the commemoration of the 2024 World Drummer’s Day, scheduled for April 4th, 2024.

This partnership discussion holds significance as the National Troupe of Nigeria had previously sponsored and showcased Ola Awakan’s acclaimed production, “Echoes of the Drums,” in 2022 at the prestigious Muson Centre in Lagos. The performance received widespread acclaim for its portrayal of Nigerian cultural rhythms and traditions.

Both parties expressed enthusiasm for the potential collaboration, recognizing the opportunity to further promote Nigeria’s vibrant artistic scene and showcase the country’s rich musical heritage on a global platform.
