ODF Condemns Eruku Killings, Assures Ekiti People of Uncompromised Security
In the wake of the gruesome killings in Eruku, Ekiti-Kwara Local Government Area of Kwara State, Hon. Opeyemi David Falegan (ODF), the Accord Party Governorship Candidate for Ekiti 2026, has strongly condemned the incident, describing it as “gruesome, senseless, and heartbreaking.”
In a post shared on his official Facebook page, Falegan expressed deep sorrow over the attack, noting that Eruku is a community with strong historical and cultural ties to Ekiti State. He commiserated with the bereaved families, the people of Eruku, and the government and citizens of Kwara State.
Falegan, who has served in both security and humanitarian capacities, emphasized his understanding of the gravity of insecurity and the psychological trauma it inflicts on communities. He assured Ekiti citizens — both within and outside the state — that their safety would remain “non-negotiable” under his leadership.
He outlined key components of his proposed security agenda, including intelligence-led community policing, technology-driven surveillance systems, and grassroots engagement. According to him, these measures are designed to strengthen early detection, rapid response, and sustainable peace across the state.
“Let us stand united and speak with one voice: No to violence. No to killings. Yes to peace. Yes to justice,” Falegan stated in the Facebook post.
He reaffirmed his commitment to a secure, peaceful, and prosperous Ekiti, pledging that no citizen should have to live in fear under his administration.
Hon. Opeyemi David Falegan is the Accord Party Governorship Candidate for Ekiti State in the 2026 elections.
