They aim to challenge the widespread superstitions in Nigerian communities that often lead to the persecution, stigmatization, and even violent acts against those accused of witchcraft.

Dr. Leo Igwe, the founder and director of Advocacy For Alleged Witches, stated, “This consultative forum aims to shed light on these supernatural beliefs and create an environment for critical thinking and enlightened perspectives. We want to empower individuals and communities to question traditional notions and embrace rational explanations.”

Presentations and panel discussions will address the cultural, psychological, and societal implications of these beliefs. Moreover, testimonies from individuals who have experienced accusations of witchcraft will be shared, illuminating the devastating consequences that arise from these baseless accusations.
