In a recent interview on TungbaFM Network’s political magazine program “Politics Naija” with Olalekan Efficient, which was monitored by Starnigerianews.com Honorable Chidi Aguocha expressed his confidence in Governor Hope Uzodinma’s ability to lead Imo State for another term. Aguocha, who was the gubernatorial candidate of the African Action Party (AAP) in 2019 and also served as the Leader of the Contral Council for Imo Indigenes (CCII), commended Uzodinma’s performance and stated that he deserves to be re-elected.
During the interview, Aguocha emphasized that in Imo State, there is no “Monday seat at home” tradition, and all markets in the state are open for business on Mondays. He highlighted Uzodinma’s efforts in ensuring a conducive environment for economic activities to flourish.
Addressing the issue of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Aguocha acknowledged the group’s right to call for self-determination within the confines of the law. However, he strongly criticized those who exploit this legitimate demand to perpetrate security challenges in the South-Eastern region of Nigeria. Aguocha reiterated his belief in the unity and oneness of Nigeria, emphasizing that no tribe should be considered more Nigerian than the Igbo people.
Honorable Chidi Aguocha’s endorsement of Governor Hope Uzodinma comes as a significant boost to the governor’s re-election campaign. Aguocha’s credibility as a former gubernatorial candidate and his leadership position in the Contral Council for Imo Indigenes lend weight to his endorsement.
As the race for the Imo State Governorship gains momentum, political analysts believe that Aguocha’s endorsement will positively impact the public perception of Governor Hope Uzodinma’s achievements and may sway the opinions of undecided voters. Ultimately, the electorate will have the final say in determining who will pilot the affairs of the state for the next four years.
