In the span of 365 days, His Excellency Governor Ademola Adeleke has steered Osun State towards an era of inclusive governance and exemplary practices, setting a commendable standard for people-centric leadership.
Navigating the intricacies of governance, from absorbing criticism to balancing the expectations of various stakeholders, Governor Adeleke has surpassed many expectations. His commitment to youth involvement in strategic positions has materialized, marking a significant shift in governance dynamics.
Commendably, the governor has prioritized infrastructure development, notably in road rehabilitation such as Osogbo, Iwo, Ikirun -Kwara boundary and others.
In healthcare, the Imole Surgical Outreach has been a lifeline for thousands, showcasing judicious fund utilization in improving citizens’ well-being. The revitalization of primary healthcare positions Osun as a model for other states.
Allocating 18 billion for pension and clearing salary arrears reflects a strong commitment to the welfare of citizens, instilling confidence in the administration’s patriotism and other remarkable interventions and achievements,Governor deserves flower.
Beyond these achievements, the administration should focus on this key areas for the immediate future:
1. Issue a white paper on chieftaincy matters,on Oba’s who were constraint from there palace,undergoing investigation over a year ago to ensure clarity and preventing misinterpretations of being political.
2. Grant high autonomy to local government administrations, particularly in revamping the agricultural sector to counter food inflation in the state.
3. Undertake a comprehensive recruitment exercise, addressing staff shortages in educational and healthcare institutions.
4. Prioritize tourism as an untapped source of revenue and job creation.
5. Actively attract local and foreign investors to stimulate economic growth and employment.
6. Consider a 30/40% increase in workers’ salaries to alleviate the impact of subsidy removal and economic challenges.
