



In a closely watched and competitive contest, Engr Adeola Adebanjo has emerged as the Labour Party’s chosen candidate for the Surulere constituency House of Representatives By-election. The event unfolded during the party’s primaries on Sunday 7th January 2024 where 18 delegates from the six wards participated in the voting process.
According to Starnigerianews.com reporter who was present at the Modele Compound Tejuoso Road Barracks Bus Stop Surulere where the events took place witness Engr Adebanjo secured a decisive victory with 12 votes, showcasing strong support from the party’s delegates.
In contrast, Folaseye Adebayo trailed behind with 6 votes, while Kene failed to secure any votes in the primaries.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), along with media representatives and Labour Party state officials, were present to ensure transparency in the electoral process. The atmosphere was charged with anticipation as party members and observers eagerly awaited the outcome.
