Hon. Tobiloke Shodipe Dosunmu, the Lagos Island Labour Party House of Representatives candidate in last year 2023 general election, has recently expressed his opinion about President Bola Tinubu’s response to the corruption allegations leveled against suspended Minister of Humanitarian and Poverty Alleviation Dr. Betta Edu on how she allegedly directed the transfer of the N585.2 million NSIPA money into the private account of one of her fronts in clear violation of Chapter 7, Section 713 of Nigeria’s Financial Regulations, 2009 which expressly prohibits the payment of public money into a private account.

Dosunmu commends President Tinubu for ensuring that the matter was not swept under the carpet and for taking the necessary steps to suspend the accused minister.

In an interview with starnigerianews.com, Hon. Tobiloke Shodipe Dosunmu emphasized President Tinubu’s commitment to the fight against corruption. He believes that President Tinubu’s actions in this case demonstrate his zero tolerance for corruption and prove that his anti-corruption agenda is of the highest priority.

Hon. Tobiloke Dosunmu recognize other notable efforts of President Tinubu to reposition Nigeria. One such effort was the presidential directive to release 200,000 Metric Tonnes of grains from strategic reserves to households across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, with the aim of moderating prices and ensuring food security. Additionally, President Tinubu earmarked 225,000 metric tonnes of fertilizer, seedlings, and other inputs to support farmers in their agricultural activities.

Furthermore, President Tinubu initiated an access-to-credit program designed specifically for startups and micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs). This program aims to provide N50 billion in conditional grants to one million nano-businesses across Nigeria by March 2024. Additionally, a new single-digit interest-rate Fund has been established to provide N75 billion to support manufacturing enterprises.

Hon. Tobiloke Dosunmu also highlighted the ongoing efforts by President Tinubu to rebuild the Nigeria Refinery, as well as other capital projects being embarked upon by his administration.
