Asiwaju Ademola Adeleke: An Embodiment of Empathy in Governance – Funmiso Babarinde

Gov Adeleke and Hon Babarinde

Yesterday, a retiree in Osun State shared a heartwarming message: “I’ve collected my bond papers at Abere, courtesy of Baba Onifila Gogoro. My Buga is on course, Insha Allah. I’ll play my part in his continuity.” This message resonated deeply, highlighting the universal principle that a laborer deserves their wages, and after dedicated service, a lifetime package to ensure their well-being.

For over a decade, Osun State workers and retirees faced difficulties until Asiwaju Senator Dr. Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke assumed leadership, bringing hope and positive change. The government has since approved promotions with financial backing, paid arrears owed by the previous administration, and provided a wage award to cushion the effects of economic challenges. Just a couple of hours ago, the administration presented bonds worth over four billion naira to retirees, totaling over 12 billion naira in less than two years – a feat surpassing the previous government’s 12-year total of 11 billion naira.

This achievement deserves commendation and encouragement for the government to continue prioritizing the welfare of senior citizens and other critical sectors like infrastructure, health, education, and security. It’s important to note that the previous government led by APC paid a total of approximately 11 billion naira in twelve years, making the current government’s accomplishment all the more impressive.

While achieving this remarkable feat, the people-oriented administration is also focusing on other critical areas of government and governance, including infrastructure development, health, education, security, and more. Our governor, a man with a good heart, should be encouraged to continue his excellent work for the people of Osun State, ensuring a brighter future beyond 2026 and a coveted position among states in the years to come.

Hon. Funmiso Babarinde (JP), Yakooyo Ward, Ife North Local Government, Ipetumodu, Osun State. June 8, 2024.
