Gov Ademola Adeleke

The past few months have seen labour crises in Nigeria, with the federal government and labour unions negotiating a minimum wage or living wage. Amidst this uncertainty, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke made a groundbreaking announcement during the commissioning of new digital equipment at the state radio and television station.

He declared full employment for all freelance and contract staff of the broadcasting corporation, who had been working without job security for years.

This unexpected move was met with jubilation in the media community, both in Osun and beyond. The Chairman of Rattawu praised the governor, noting that this was an unprecedented development in the history of the state’s broadcasting industry.

Furthermore, despite the uncertainty surrounding civil servants’ wages in the federation, Governor Adeleke absorbed over 200 temporary staff of the University of Ilesa as permanent employees. This move was welcomed with excitement by the staff and students of the university community, similar to the reaction of the OSBC community.

This demonstrates the governor’s commitment to addressing critical sectors in the state, including information, education, health, infrastructure, and civil service. Additionally, there is a renewed focus on agriculture and food security to combat inflationary trends in agricultural products.

In less than two years, the Adeleke-led government has achieved significant milestones, indicating a bright future for Osun State. As the people of Osun celebrate these accomplishments, one is reminded that leadership is about serving others and making a positive impact on lives. Governor Adeleke’s selfless approach to governance has inspired hope and renewed faith in the democratic process and the prosperity of Osun.

With his impressive performance and talk-and-do legacy, every discerning mind can see that Osun State is on course to becoming a beacon of progress and prosperity for all and a pride to our nation.
