Farmers in Irepodun South local Council Development Area have been assured of requisite support from the government of the day in order to boost food production in the area.
   Chairman caretaker committee in the council area,Hon Sulaiman Kayode Wasiu gave the assurance while addressing a gathering of farmers at the council Secretariat,Oke Awesin, Erin Osun on Tuesday.
  The farmers were invited for a lecture on how to make effective use of the Osun Covid19 Action Response and Economic Stimulus (O’ CARES).
  According to the Chairman,O CARES   is a program designed to benefit the less privileged people especially, the grassroot farmers.He thereby implored them to make adequate use the advantage of the program to boost their production
  In her own address, Head of Local Government Administration in the council,Mrs Olubusayo Fakayode commended government at the various levels in the country for the different programs being put in place to boost food production in the country.She then encouraged the farmers in the council area to make effective use of O CARES program.
  The community facilitator of N CARES program in Irepodun local government, Mr Sulaiman Kamil took time to explain the various ways through which the farmers can benefit from the program.He also gave explanations on some gray areas about the program.
  The Director of Agric in Irepodun South lcda, Mr Nurudeen Raji , while speaking at the event, advised the farmers to form themselves into co- operative groups and register with the government for them to fully enjoy  the benefits Of  O’CARES  and other government programs.
  The event was attended by the political functionaries, career officers ,agric experts, farmers and others
