NYCN: Engr Adigun Ibrahim Olalekan Previews Upcoming World Youth Skills Day


Engr. Adigun Ibrahim Olalekan, Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Lagos State chapter, has provided insights into the upcoming World Youth Skills Day celebrations scheduled to commence on Monday, July 15, 2024. The announcement was made during an appearance on the TungbaFM Network Political Magazine Program, “Politics Naija,” hosted by Mogaji Olalekan Efficient, and was closely monitored by Starnigerianews.com.

The World Youth Skills Day event will see activities rolled out across various local chapters, including Alimosho, Ifelodun, Agege, Kosofe, Ikorodu, and other areas. Engr. Olalekan emphasized the importance of these activities in equipping the youth with essential skills for their personal and professional development.

“Our goal is to empower the youth through skill acquisition programs that will enable them to be self-reliant and competitive in the global economy,” stated Engr. Olalekan. “We are excited to see the participation from all local chapters and the impact these programs will have on our youth.”

In addition to the World Youth Skills Day celebrations, Engr. Olalekan highlighted other projects currently being piloted by the NYCN. These projects aim to address various aspects of youth development, including entrepreneurship, leadership training, and community service initiatives.

“We have a range of projects designed to support our youth in different capacities. Our focus is not just on skills development but also on fostering a sense of responsibility and leadership among the youth,” he added.
