Mexico Navy Seizes Nearly Eight Tons of Drugs in High-Speed Pacific Ocean Pursuits

In a series of dramatic high-speed boat chases, the Mexican Navy has confiscated nearly eight tons of illegal drugs from the Pacific Ocean in two major operations.

Helicopter footage captured the intensity of the pursuit southwest of Manzanillo, highlighting the navy’s efforts to intercept drug traffickers in swift-moving boats. The first operation yielded a substantial haul of 5.6 tonnes of narcotics, discovered aboard three separate motorboats. Authorities also arrested 15 individuals in connection with this operation, marking the largest drug seizure under the current administration.

In a follow-up operation near the coastal city of Lazaro Cardenas in Michoacan state, the navy seized an additional 1.6 tonnes of drugs. Both operations underscore the ongoing challenges Mexico faces in combating drug trafficking and highlight the navy’s commitment to disrupting these illicit activities. The successful busts reflect a significant blow to drug cartels operating in the region and a notable achievement in Mexico’s drug enforcement efforts.
