Dr. Ademola Bayonle Pays Tribute to Oba Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran, Owa Obokun of Ijesaland

Ilesa, Nigeria – September 15, 2024 – Dr. Ademola Bayonle, the former YPP gubernatorial candidate and founder of Elites of Osun, has paid tribute to Oba Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran, the 40th Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, who passed away on September 11, 2024, at the age of 87. The revered monarch, who had a distinguished reign of 42 years, was a prominent figure in the Yoruba community and a former Chairman of the Osun State Council of Traditional Rulers.

In a statement to Star Nigeria News.com, Dr. Bayonle expressed profound sorrow over the monarch’s death, describing it as a significant loss to the Yoruba race. “Oba Aromolaran’s departure is not just a loss to Ijesaland but to the entire Yoruba nation,” Dr. Bayonle said. “His contributions to our cultural heritage and his leadership over four decades have left an indelible mark on our history.”

Dr. Bayonle highlighted the late Oba’s unwavering commitment to tradition and his role in promoting good governance and leadership within the region. As the founder of Elites of Osun, a group dedicated to advocating for improved leadership and governance in Osun State and Nigeria, Dr. Bayonle underscored the importance of the monarch’s legacy in inspiring future leaders.
