LASBA President Urges Barbers in Lagos to Join the Association, Highlights Benefits and Importance of Licensing
Lagos, Nigeria – Comrade Chief Olabisi Francis, the President of the Lagos State Barbers Association (LASBA), has called on all barbers across the state to register and become members of the association. Speaking on Saturday during a special program on TungbaFM Network, hosted by Mogaji Olalekan Efficient, Comrade Francis emphasized the significance of membership in promoting professionalism and curbing criminal activities within the industry.

He noted that barbers who engage in illegal activities are often not members of the association, explaining that those registered with LASBA are generally well-behaved and follow the association’s guidelines for ethical conduct. “Being a member of the association is crucial because it not only helps foster a sense of discipline and professionalism but also protects the reputation of the industry,” he stated.
Comrade Olabisi Francis also expressed his gratitude to the Lagos State Government, particularly Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, for their continuous recognition and support of the association. He highlighted the top-notch training programs and resources provided by the state government, which have helped elevate the standards within the barbering profession.

Further, the LASBA President made an appeal to the Lagos State Government to assist in facilitating the licensing process for association members. He believes that licensing would not only help distinguish legitimate, professional barbers from unqualified individuals but also protect the image of the profession as a whole. “Licensing will help eradicate quacks and unprofessional individuals who tarnish the good name of the association,” Comrade Francis explained.

On the structure of the association, Comrade Francis elaborated that LASBA operates with a multi-tiered leadership system. Apart from the State Executive, which is led by the President, the association also has Zonal Executives managed by Governors, and Branch-level Executives headed by Branch Chairmen. This hierarchical system ensures effective management and coordination across various levels of the association.
The LASBA President was accompanied by other executive members, including Comrade Kazeem Agboola, the Vice President, and Comrade Ukaegwu Collins, the Treasurer, who all joined him on the program to further discuss the association’s goals and activities.
In closing, Comrade Olabisi Francis reiterated the numerous benefits of joining LASBA, including access to training, networking opportunities, and the collective strength of being part of a well-organized professional body.
