Nigerian Author Oladigbo Olalekan Mourns Charlie Kirk, Dedicates Upcoming Book to His Memory
Lagos, Nigeria – Nigerian author, journalist, and political analyst, Oladigbo O. Olalekan, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Charlie Kirk, Founder and Convener of Turning Point America, who was tragically murdered at the age of 31 during a campus event in Utah.
In a press statement via his Facebook account, Olalekan described Kirk as “a shining light of the conservative voice” and credited him as a strong force behind former President Donald J. Trump’s emergence in the November 5, 2024, presidential election.
The Nigerian author revealed that he had hoped Kirk would write the foreword to his forthcoming book, Trump’s Not Done with Washington: The Return of the MAGA White House. He said the book, which examines the American political landscape around Trump’s presidency and the MAGA movement, will now be fully dedicated to Kirk’s memory.
“Charlie Kirk’s ideas were not only inspiring but also instrumental to my work,” Olalekan said. “His passing is a tragic loss not only to the conservative movement in the U.S. but also to thinkers and writers across the world who drew strength from his insights.”
Extending condolences to President Trump, the Kirk family, and members of the MAGA movement, Olalekan prayed for Kirk’s soul to rest in peace and for comfort to those grieving his loss.
