Nigerian Diplomat, UN Peace Ambassador Oladele Simeon Adewale Celebrates First Lady Remi Tinubu as Ooni Bestows ‘Yeye Asiwaju Gbogbo Ile-Oodua’ Title

The honour was bestowed on Sunday by the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, during the grand finale of activities marking his 10th coronation anniversary at Afewonro Park, Enuwa Square, Ile-Ife.

Oba Ogunwusi emphasised that the title was unanimously endorsed by traditional rulers across the Yoruba kingdom, describing the First Lady as a nurturer and symbol of unity. He also expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for granting approval for her to complete the necessary chieftaincy rites.
Responding, Senator Tinubu expressed profound gratitude, describing the recognition as both humbling and divine. She commended the Ooni’s leadership, applauding his efforts in promoting Yoruba heritage and giving the race renewed global visibility.
In a hopeful message that resonated throughout the gathering, the First Lady declared that 2026 would be “a year of joy, honour, and restoration” for Nigeria, assuring citizens of brighter days ahead.
