Seyi Tinubu, Wife Bags Okanlomo, Yeye Okanlomo of Yorubaland Title at Alaafin’s Palace
Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has been installed as the Okanlomo of Yorubaland by the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Owoade.
The traditional installation ceremony took place on Sunday at the historic Alaafin’s Palace in Oyo town, Oyo State, attracting royal chiefs, dignitaries, and well-wishers from across the South-West.

Seyi Tinubu, a businessman and youth advocate, has been actively involved in entrepreneurship and youth-focused initiatives. In recent years, he has also accompanied President Tinubu on several official and political engagements, both within and outside the country.

In a related development, his wife, Layal Tinubu, was equally honoured at the ceremony, as she was conferred with the title of Yeye Okanlomo of Yorubaland, in recognition of her support and contributions.
The chieftaincy installation underscores the enduring cultural heritage of the Yoruba people and highlights the Alaafin’s role in preserving traditional institutions while recognising individuals contributing to societal development.
