Oshodi-Isolo Council Chairman Strengthens Partnership with NIMC on NIN Data Capture

The Executive Chairman of Oshodi-Isolo Local Government, Otunba Kehinde Oloyede-Almaroof, has extended his institutional support to the management of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), the federal government agency saddled with the management of citizens’ National Identification Number (NIN). He assured that his administration remains ready and willing to support the agency in its drive to ensure adequate data capture of residents within the local government.

He made this assurance on Wednesday while receiving the Supervisor and Head of the NIMC Oshodi-Isolo Office, Mrs. Morayo Cadmus. During the meeting, he commended her for the wonderful job being done, noting that reports have flooded his office—particularly on the cooperation extended to residents with complaints, and more importantly, to students who require the number for external examinations.

Otunba Oloyede-Almaroof admonished the agency to ensure that any challenges confronting it are promptly brought to his attention for necessary remedies, so that the task can be expeditiously actualised for the overall good of the people.

In his words: “I must appreciate your courtesy visit to my office. It is a welcome development, as we need to collaborate for the good of society. I also want to assure you that this administration is ready and willing to support you in any way necessary to ensure your job is made easier. We are partners in progress, and that is why your visit at this time is highly appreciated.”

“You have been supportive and responsive, and we will continue to support you to ensure that all residents are adequately captured and issued national identity numbers.”

In her opening remarks, Mrs. Cadmus disclosed that she was in the office of the Chairman to appreciate what the council has been doing and to request additional support to enable the commission to work to the best of its ability in capturing a greater number of residents in Oshodi-Isolo.

She assured that the NIMC office would continue to deliver on its mandate to ensure that all residents are captured and issued National Identification Numbers for effective planning purposes.

The Chairman was joined by the Party Chairman of the Local Government, Alhaji Saheed Kolawole Animashaun, and Hon. Azeez Onibiyo.
