Hon. Amb. Simeon Oladele Adewale Salutes Nigerian Military on Armed Forces Remembrance Day
Honourable Ambassador Simeon Oladele Adewale, a Nigerian diplomat to Trinidad and Tobago, has congratulated the Nigerian Armed Forces on the occasion of the Armed Forces Remembrance Day, commending their resilience, patriotism, and unwavering commitment to the unity and sovereignty of the nation.
In a statement made available to starnigerianews.com, Hon. Amb. Adewale paid glowing tribute to officers and men of the Nigerian Army, Navy and Air Force, describing them as gallant defenders who have continued to make enormous sacrifices in the face of evolving security challenges.
According to him, the Nigerian military has remained steadfast and courageous in protecting the country’s territorial integrity, democracy, and peaceful coexistence among its diverse peoples. He noted that their fighting spirit and professionalism have continued to inspire confidence at home and respect abroad.
“Armed Forces Remembrance Day is a solemn moment to honour our fallen heroes who paid the supreme price in defence of our nation,” Adewale said. “It is also a time to appreciate our serving personnel for their resilience, discipline, and selfless service in keeping Nigeria united and sovereign.”
The diplomat further acknowledged the sacrifices of military families, particularly widows and children of fallen heroes, stressing that their pains and losses must never be forgotten. He urged government at all levels and well-meaning Nigerians to continue to support the welfare of serving and retired military personnel.
Hon. Amb. Adewale reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to peace, security, and international cooperation, noting that the bravery of the armed forces remains a critical pillar in sustaining national stability and projecting Nigeria’s image globally.
He concluded by wishing the Nigerian Armed Forces continued strength, victory, and divine protection as they carry out their constitutional responsibilities to the nation.
