It is with great pleasure that I, Hon. Olumide Onabajo, on behalf of the African Democratic Congress ADC, Ogun state chapter, welcome all Nigerians and Ogun state indigenes and residents to the 63rd Independence celebration of Nigeria from our colonial masters.
This year’s celebration comes at a time when the country is facing security and economic challenges that have taken a toll on the lives and livelihoods of our people. We empathize with every Nigerian who is currently experiencing hardship and we urge them to remain resilient in the face of these challenges.
We recognize that without good leadership, it may be difficult to reduce the hardship on Nigerians, and as such, we call on the government at all levels to prioritize the needs and interests of the people. We understand that it is only by providing security, creating jobs, and investing in infrastructure can we achieve the advancement and progress we need as a nation.
As we celebrate this significant milestone in our country’s history, we urge every Nigerian to remain hopeful and steadfast, knowing full well that collectively, we can rebuild and restore our beloved nation to greatness.
Once again, I wish all Nigerians and Ogun state indigenes and residents a happy Independence Day celebration.
