The press release, signed by Olubunmi Odesanya, the Publicity Secretary of the Labour Party Lagos State, highlighted the party’s commitment to the well-being of the citizens and their dissatisfaction with the current government’s handling of the nation’s affairs.
The statement acknowledged the recent incident where Lagosians, in desperation, were seen chanting “Ebi npa wa o (we are hungry)” while President Bola Tinubu was on his way to Jumat prayers. The Labour Party described this situation as disheartening, emphasizing that hunger and pain have become the sad reality for Lagosians, as well as Nigerians in general.
The Labour Party Lagos State expressed solidarity with the citizens during this difficult period and appealed for a prompt resolution to the issue. They urged the All Progressives Congress (APC) led government to take immediate action to alleviate the suffering of Nigerians, and address the increasing insecurity and killings plaguing the nation.
Looking ahead to the New Year, the Labour Party Lagos State fervently prayed for a year free from hunger and pain, expressing hope that the APC government would take the necessary steps to improve the lives of its citizens.
