Tinubu’s Two Years Have Brought Inspiring Transformation — Obasa

The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, has hailed President Bola Tinubu’s two years in office as a period of “inspiring transformation” defined by economic rejuvenation, renewed national spirit, and the reinvention of Nigeria’s governance structure.

Obasa gave this assessment on Thursday during the 10th Constituency Stakeholders’ Engagement at the Agege Local Government Secretariat. Themed “Governance in Action: The Gains of the Renewed Hope Agenda,” the programme was held simultaneously across all 40 constituencies of the state.

According to the Speaker, the engagement serves as a platform for lawmakers to give account of their stewardship, interact with constituents, and collectively address pressing developmental issues.

Highlighting the achievements of Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, Obasa noted that the administration had aggressively tackled economic stagnation through strategic reforms, including fiscal policy adjustments and improved revenue mechanisms. These, he said, have boosted investor confidence, diversified the economy, improved Nigeria’s credit rating, and laid a solid foundation for sustainable growth.

He further pointed to transformative national infrastructure projects—ranging from new road networks to upgraded ports and modern public facilities—that are enhancing the quality of life and strengthening Nigeria’s role as a hub for commerce and innovation.

On agriculture, Obasa said increased investment in mechanised farming, financing, and market expansion had empowered farmers and positioned Nigeria as a potential agricultural powerhouse.

The Speaker also commended Tinubu’s investment in human capital, citing the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) as a landmark initiative that has given students renewed hope.

Drawing parallels between federal and state efforts, Obasa praised Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his innovative urban renewal projects, efficient service delivery, and legislative collaboration, which he described as vital to sustaining progress.

In his remarks, Acting Chairman of Agege LGA, Abdul Ganiyu Vinod Obasa, lauded President Tinubu’s commitment to restoring Nigeria’s economic stability and prosperity. He pledged to emulate the president by ensuring that the dividends of democracy are delivered to every member of the community.
