Ijo Isese Asegun Holds 2025 Ajodun Ikore Festival in Ejigbo: Honoring Culture, Spirituality, and Distinguished Yoruba Personalities”

The ancient town of Ejigbo in Osun State is set to come alive on Saturday, November 15, 2025, as the Ijo Isese Asegun, located at Number 64, Temidire Community Area, hosts its annual cultural and spiritual celebration Ajodun Ikore.

Starnigerianews.com gathered that the Ajodun Ikore, a festival deeply rooted in Yoruba tradition, is a time of thanksgiving, renewal, and communal reflection. It serves as a sacred occasion to appreciate the bountiful harvests of life, honor the divine forces (Orisa), and celebrate the enduring values of the Isese heritage.

This year’s event will not only feature traditional rites, music, and cultural displays, but will also witness the presentation of merit awards to distinguished personalities who have contributed immensely to the promotion and preservation of Yoruba culture and spirituality across the world.

The festival will be chaired by Dr. Abdul Rasheed Adeoye (Omo Odo Agba), a respected cultural advocate and scholar, while the Host of the occasion is Chief Johnson Oyeyode, the Olota of Ejigbo Land, whose leadership continues to inspire the growth and unity of the Ejigbo community.

Among the awardees are prominent figures in Yoruba cultural and spiritual advocacy, including Tani Olorun, Bennyle, Oro Yoruba, Afolabi Mokunfayo, Atamatase, Kinniu Orumila, Akede Odua, Ewa Orisa, and Kijipa Oro. The global reach of the festival will also be reflected in the recognition of notable Yoruba descendants in the diaspora: representative of Seun Jegede (Australia), Dr. Akanji Akinkunmi (Brazil), Olutayo Sowumi (Canada), Olumide Hassan (United States), and Muritala Adebayo (United Kingdom).

According to the organizing committee, Ajodun Ikore is more than a cultural festivity; it is a reaffirmation of the Yoruba people’s spiritual identity, communal harmony, and reverence for the divine order. The event provides a platform to bridge traditional wisdom with contemporary understanding, uniting Yoruba sons and daughters from all walks of life.

In the words of the Host, Chief Johnson Oyeyode (Olota of Ejigbo Land)“Ajodun Ikore reminds us of who we are as a people — resilient, spiritual, and deeply connected to our roots. It is a celebration of harvest, peace, and progress.”

Guests, devotees, and lovers of Yoruba culture from within and outside Nigeria are expected to attend the festival, which promises to be a colorful and spiritually uplifting experience.
