NTDA Director General Olayiwola Awakan Honoured with Fellowship Doctorate in Strategic Leadership

The Director General of the Nigerian Tourism Development Authority (NTDA), Mr. Olayiwola Awakan, has been conferred with the prestigious Honorary Professional Fellowship Doctorate in Strategic Leadership and Public Resources Management in West Africa by the Chartered Institute of Public Resources Management and Politics (Ghana).

The award ceremony, held at the NTDA Headquarters, was led by Dr. Yinka Olateju, the Country Director, and Alhaji Abdulszeez Salami, the Executive Director of Research and Training of the Institute. The recognition celebrates Mr. Awakan’s exemplary leadership, integrity, and outstanding contributions to public service and resource management.

In his remarks, Mr. Awakan expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Institute for the honour, dedicating the award to his wife, family, and parents. He said, “This is my charge to continue to do what I love to do — serve humanity.”

Encouraging young people to remain steadfast, he emphasized that passion and consistency are essential to achieving success. Mr. Awakan also reaffirmed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, is deeply committed to the growth of the tourism sector, assuring that the NTDA will continue to work tirelessly to actualize the President’s vision for tourism development in Nigeria.

The event was attended by officials from the Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy, led by Minister Hannatu Musa Musawa, and other dignitaries who congratulated the Director General on the well-deserved recognition.
